Bohart Ranch brings quality ski events

During the ski season Bohart Ranch Cross Country Ski Center hosts special events, including Moonlight Ski, Ski Fest (Winter Trails Day), a Wood 'n’ Woolies Vintage Ski, and a variety of races. Sunday, January 10th, check out the Nordic Fest, sponsored by Subaru of Bozeman. Skate or classic, kids and adults, beginners and intermediates are welcomed. There will be free lessons, with rentals and trail privileges at 10 am or 1:30 pm. Reservations for lessons are required beginning January 4th. Local shops will be on site offering free demos, and free snowshoe demos will be available. Registration is limited — this event fills quickly! Call Bohart Ranch at 586-9070.

Friday, Saturday & Sunday, January 15th, 16th &17th, the <]I>MSU NCAA Regional & JO Qualifier Races will be held. Come watch and cheer on the best in the West! Collegiate teams and junior skiers compete for three days. Friday: mass start 10K and 15K classic. Saturday: interval start 5K and 10K skate races. Sunday: classic sprint races. Saturday, January 23rd, Montana Senior Olympics. Senior Olympics welcomes skiers of all abilities aged 45 and older to participate. Classic 5k and 10 k races begin at 10 am. Freestyle 5k and 10k races begin at 1 pm. For information and registration call 586-5543.

Bohart Ranch is dedicated to offering the highest quality Nordic Skiing. The 29 Km scenic trail system, situated on private and Forest Service lands, loops through terrain well suited to all ability levels. The trails are professionally groomed for both classic and skate skiing using the latest technology in grooming equipment, the Prinoth Husky. The Biathlon Range offers year-round training and competition. The Kiddy Kilometer Trail is a signed interpretative trail popular with families and younger skiers.

Bohart Ranch also features snowshoe trails. Because of its quality snow conditions and outstanding trail system, the Ranch has been chosen to host many national level events, including the 2002 National Olympic Qualifier. The ski school is staffed with qualified instructors and coaches who teach daily lessons and clinics to all age and ability levels. Custom lesson packages can be tailored to meet group needs. There are also ski programs for master skiers, pre-school skiers and their parents, and for public and private area schools.
