Gallatin Valley Dirt Riders will host Round 6 of the newly formed Big Sky MX Challenge racing series August 18 & 19 at the Hyline Raceway on Bitterroot Road west of Bozeman. Big Sky MX Challenge is a popular new motocross racing series for men and women ages 4 to 40+. Big Sky MX Challenge focuses on competitors’ needs, providing quality race tracks and racing conditions, long motos for every class, contingency awards and consistent, dependable and professional event management. “We have striven to provide the highest quality, most competitive motocross events in this region. Most of the participants are enthusiasts and 'weekend warrior' racers. But we approach every event with a professional state-of-mind and manage the race series to be the best it can become,” says Shawn Petersen of the Big Sky MX Challenge.
The Gallatin Valley Dirt Riders has teamed with the Big Sky MX Challenge series presented by Troy Lee Designs (and T & E Equipment, with help from Ressler Motors) because of its excellent reputation and just how quickly the series is growing," adds GVDR Vice President, Ryan Streich. "In every respect, Big Sky MX Challenge and its partners have excelled and built a reputation as a well organized team ... and we only see great things to come." This year’s series will feature top regional amateur riders that include AMA national award winners and nationally sponsored athletes. Big Sky MX Challenge produces quality events and brings the thrill of the original action sport to the finest race tracks in Montana. For nearly three decades, Gallatin Valley Dirt Riders has remained an active part of the Bozeman community, providing entertainment & recreation opportunities to its residents and visitors alike. The club promotes a variety of competitive and recreational motorcycle-related events each year. These events vary from sanctioned motocross racing, live music, members-only trail rides, social gatherings and the premiere event of year, “Motocross Roundup,” taking place every September. GVDR operates and promotes Hyline Raceway, a top-level, professionally designed and built motocross track. The design of the track includes challenging dirt features for all skill levels. Changes are made to the track layout throughout the year. It also features a high-capacity irrigation system, rock-free soil and regular maintenance. In 2008, Hyline Raceway was chosen as the location for the inaugural “Red Bull Renewal” project. For more information on the club, call 539-0313 or
