It’s a busy month for the Bike Kitchen. Classes! Tour de Pour Slow Ride! A century ride! And we’re open for our extended summer hours: 12-8 on Tuesday and Thursday, and 10-12 Saturday.
Monday, August 8, 7 PM-8 PM: Where the Bike Lane Ends
Do you want to ride your bike more, but have safety concerns? Come to our one hour, cyclist-empowering classroom course for lessons on how to get from A to B with safety and confidence– even where there is no bike lane.
Monday, August 15, 7 PM-8 PM: Intro to Bike Maintenance
Join us for an evening of introductory bicycle maintenance lessons as a professional mechanic teaches us how to get our bicycles cleaned, tuned and ready to ride. We’ll also learn how to be prepared for common mechanical problems encountered on the road. BYOB (Bring your own bike).
Monday, August 22, 7 PM-8 PM: Randonneuring with Jason Karp
Jason Karp will be making a presentation on randonneuring and his successful completion of the 1230km Paris-Brest-Paris Grand Randonnee. He’ll discuss the training, qualifying, and logistics of getting to France to do the ride. He will also talk about randonneuring in general and encourage others to give this unique form of cycling a try.
Thursday, August 25, 6 PM: Tour de Pour Slow Ride
We’ll departing The Pourhouse at 6pm and take a slow ride to Spectators for a free BBQ and beverage. Then we’ll ride back to The Pourhouse and raffle off a gorgeous, American-made 25th anniversary New Belgium Cruiser. All proceeds from the event go to the Bozeman Bike Kitchen.
Saturday, August 27, 7 AM: Three Rivers Century. Support drivers needed!
This is the 12th running of the 3 Rivers Century. Proceeds from this ride benefit the Bike Kitchen. Ride options include a 33 mile Churchill Cruiser, 44 mile Churchill Gravel Grinder, a 66 mile River Rambler and the classic 100 mile 3 Rivers Century.
